Abstract: Today's information warriors are not sufficiently trained to deal effectively with the threats posed by our potential enemies and terrorists to disrupt or destroy our computer networks, or steal or delete our valuable and sensitive information stored in these networks. Team DigiFlight has personnel who are skilled in the required technologies, and can develop training scenarios that will be useful in the classroom. Additionally, we have already developed tools that have been demonstrated to be effective in several phases of information operations, and will be useful for demonstration in the classroom. Further, we propose to develop a training "package" that will use modeling and simulation techniques to maximize the effectiveness of this training to the IO practitioner.
Benefits: The ultimate product will be IO practitioners who are better trained to protect our computer networks and the information contained therein. Our deliverable to the Navy under Phase III of this SBIR is a training package that will include training scenarios, selectable "threat" options, instructor notes, some necessary hardware, and software applications.
