Abstract: The Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) work together to provide perimeter protection for the naval forces. Maintaining persistent connectivity with the UUVs/USVs is critical to the success of the operations. GIRD Systems proposes to develop a new waveform that can provide anti-jamming (AJ) protection while support high data rate links. The proposed waveform will be designed, simulated, and demonstrated.
Benefits: This SBIR program develops a new waveform that can provide anti-jamming (AJ) protection in environments with jammer-to-signal (J/S) ratios of 30 dB while support 3Mbps and 200kbps link rates over a 10nmi link. This SBIR program obviously develops into a potential product for the military market. Many DoD Services will have interest and need in robust, anti-jam data link such as the one proposed here. Commercial products may also be developed from this effort and integrated into communication systems supporting other mission critical applications such as disaster response.
